Brooke Shields and Michael Jackson: The Unlikely Pair
Brooke Shields couldn’t have said it any better; her and Michael Jackson were an “unlikely pair.” At first glance, Shields seemed to stand out like a sore thumb among the other speakers at the memorial, but as it turns out the mega-star musical legend and the actress/author/model were an odd and yet extremely close couple. They both shared something in common, they grew up in the public eye and didn’t have a real childhood. Shields recalls when they were together, “We always seemed to revert to being little kids.” The two met when Shields was just 13 years old and never left him.
Years ago she told Rolling Stones Magazine:
“We instantly became friends. Nothing was jaded about him. I just was so impressed by his sweetness. He was thoughtful, sensitive, sweet, and had a funny sense of humor. If you got to talk to him about music or about the future of technology, his voice would get deeper, he would start talking, and it was as if he was this genius.”
Shields said the two became close since sexuality wasn’t a part of their friendship even though Jackson did propose to her at one point:
“There were times when he would ask me to marry him, and I would say, ‘You have me for the rest of your life, you don’t need to marry me, I’m going to go on and do my own life and have my own marriage and my own kids, and you’ll always have me.’ I think it made him relax. He didn’t want to lose things that meant something to him.”
Their friendship was something special, which was evident in the touching speech Shields gave at Jackson’s memorial this morning. She told stories of how Jackson failed to teach her how to moonwalk and the time they tried to catch the first glimpse of Elizabeth Taylor in her wedding dress, but instead found the actress asleep on a bed.
Shields was someone who truly knew and understood the man who was a mystery to the rest of the world. The bond between the two stars was genuine which is why it lasted all these years. Shields continued on their friendship:
“We just found each other, and we didn’t have to deal with our sexuality. As I grew up and started having boyfriends, I would share with him, and he was like a little kid who talked about the bases- what first base was, what second base was, and it sounded very odd to the outside, I can imagine, but to the inside, to someone who’s never really left his bubble, you can understand how he would be curious.”

OK! cover of Michael Jackson's death photo stirs controversy - A woe added
But they've gotten more reaction than they bargained for.
The New York Post has reported that Sean Combs and Jay-Z are said to be so furious, "they're organizing a boycott,"
A rep for OK! has denied the boycott to the Post. "This is untrue. No one at OK! has been contacted about any such cancellations as a result of the magazine's coverage of this news event. Any pages booked by the advertising team are running as scheduled."
Even without a boycott, why the outrage over a photo that already aired Friday on the entertainment news show “The Insider?”
OK! Magazine published Michael Jackson's death photo on its cover this week. But "The Insider" showed the same photo on TV and posted it on its website last week. Click here (but its graphic, be warned) to see the photo
The show's website clearly says "The Insider" has the exclusive last photo of Michael Jackson before his death. But there is often a distinction between a print publication and a TV show and website's exclusive rights.

Steve McNair Dead: Steve McNair was Shot to Death - Its Proved Now
Police spokesman Don Aaron said officials tentatively identified the woman with Steve McNair, but did not release her name. He confirmed she wasn’t Steve McNair’s wife, Mechelle. He said authorities were still investigating the shootings and that no suspects were in custody.
Before Steve McNair dead, here is a little information about Steve McNair carrer:
The 36-year-old Steve McNair, known as “Air” McNair in a 13-season NFL career that ended with his retirement in April of last year, was a former quarterback for the Nashville-based Tennessee Titans.
Steve McNair began his NFL career in 1995 with the Houston Oilers, who eventually became the Titans, and finished with 31,304 yards passing and 174 touchdowns. Steve McNair played with pain for several years, and the injuries ultimately forced him to retire.
Steve McNair, a four-time Pro Bowler, led the Titans within a yard of forcing overtime in the 2000 Super Bowl, which they lost 23-16 to the St. Louis Rams. Steve McNair also played for the Baltimore Ravens before retiring in April 2008.
Steve McNair most noted drive, the last one in that Super Bowl, came when he led the Titans 87 yards in the final minute and 48 seconds, only to come up a yard short of the tying touchdown. Kevin Dyson caught his 9-yard pass, but was tackled at the 1-yard line by the Rams’ Mike Jones.
Steve McNair accounted for all of Tennessee’s yards in that drive, throwing for 48 yards and rushing for 14. The rest of the yardage came on penalties against the Rams. Before that, he brought the Titans back from a 16-0 deficit to tie the game.

“This is so, so sad. We immediately think of his family, his boys. They are all in our thoughts and prayers,” he said “What we admired most about Steve when we played against him was his competitive spirit, and we were lucky enough to have that with us for two years. He is one of the best players in the NFL over the last 20 years.”
Steve McNair last played in the NFL in 2007 for the Baltimore Ravens.
He is a former third overall pick in the NFL’s entry draft.

Investigators appear to now be treating the deaths as a murder-suicide, The Tennessean reported. McNair's body was on the couch with Sahel Kazemi, 20, next to him. McNair, 36, had been shot several times, police said, while Kazemi was shot only once in the head and a gun lay close to her body.
Investigators said the bodies were discovered by Wayne Neely, a McNair friend, in a condominium McNair rented.
McNair, 36, retired in April 2008 after 13 seasons in the league.
He played for the Houston Oilers, Tennessee Titans and Baltimore Ravens, and was selected to the Pro Bowl three times. He was the co-NFL MVP in 2003 with the Indianapolis Colts' Peyton Manning.
McNair led the Titans to the Super Bowl after the 1999 season, where the team lost to the St. Louis Rams 23-16. Receiver Kevin Dyson caught McNair’s final pass with no time remaining and was tackled with the ball inside the 1-yard line.
